Founded in 2015, Clark Ward Associates was established to address the need for high quality, training and consultancy services in the field of children's safeguarding. By using a network of skilled and experienced associates we can develop bespoke solutions for all your training and consultancy needs
Our work with Children and Families is underpinned by the Children Act 1989, and subsequently 2004. Clark Ward Associates is committed to the principles of this Act, being that the child’s safety is paramount, and that emphasis should be given to providing support, advice and guidance to enable children to be brought up by their families as far as this is compatible with their safety and best interests. Clark Ward Associates is committed to anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory practice.
Rachael Ward
Rachael has worked in Children's Social Care as a Social Worker and Manager for several years, becoming an Independent Safeguarding and Child Protection Consultant in 2011. Her consultancy work includes undertaking a range of assessments within private and Public Law, Rachael also supports and provides guidance in relation to child protection issues to educational organisations and a range of other agencies. Rachael is an experienced trainer, a qualified Practice Teacher and has undertaken other relevant post qualifying awards to enable best practice and continued registration as a Social Worker. Rachael has developed and delivered extensive programmes of multi training on behalf Local Safeguarding Children Boards.
Catherine Clark
Catherine has worked within the field of Children and Families since graduating in 2002. Catherine has specialised in safeguarding and has worked several Local Authorities, developing multi agency working for adults and children's safeguarding partnerships. Catherine has had a wealth of experience working with education settings including acting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and working as Head of Strategy within a large academy school. Catherine is an experienced child protection and safer recruitment trainer and a qualified peer reviewer.
